The Pan African Film and Arts Festival has been recognized as one of the largest celebrations of Black culture and Black films. The Honest Struggle had 2 great screenings at Pan African Film & Arts Festival. Special thanks to everyone who came out and Pan African for hosting us at the festival. The Honest Struggle was nominated for Best Documentary and our team was honored to meet giants of Black America cinema, Louis Gossett Jr., Danny Glover, Glynn Turman, and Nate Parker.
The Honest Struggle had it’s Michigan premiere last week, June 4th at Cinetopia Film Festival. The screening was hosted by the Arab American National Museum and also included a traditional breaking of the fast of Ramadan. The event was designed, in addition to featuring the film, to bringing various communities together to better understand their Muslim neighbors.
The screening was followed by a Q&A with Associate Producer Asad Ali Jafri and the film’s main focus, Sadiq Davis.
